Rose Park

Delightfully old-fashioned, this community is located on the northern edge of Salt Lake City just minutes from downtown.  Rose Park’s residents are among Utah's most ethnically diverse and homes vary from brick 1940s cottages (many undergoing rennovation by newer owners) to post-2000 era properties. The community's streets are lined with trees planted by WWII era dwellers and it boasts two golf courses, parks, sports fields and a library. Rose Park is in the Salt Lake City School District and Rose Park Elementary and Neuman Elementary, as well as the Salt Lake Center for Science Education are within it's borders. As of April 2014, single family homes prices ranged between $150,000 and $300,000.

While screening property in Rose Park for a client today, I became hungry. (For some reason this tends to happen, without any real notice, whenever I smell Mexican food!) Tracking the source like my bloodhound's nose enables, I came to Rose Park Chubby's

The first thing I noticed was the line to get in and it was only 11:30 AM. Once inside, I was delighted to find an exceptionally clean and comfortable dining room, very friendly with a "regulars" feel. The food was unassuming home style Mexican and the prices were a pleasant surprise, the service quick and personal.

I'll be back.
